The job
Is it time for a new board?
Your fuse board, or consumer unit, is what keeps every circuit in the house safe. Older boards often have no RCD protection, fuse wire, or a plastic case that has had bits added over the years.
We replace it with a modern metal consumer unit, test every circuit, label everything clearly and give you the certificate. If anything in the existing wiring is not safe to connect, we tell you straight before you commit to anything.
Signs you need one
- You still have old fuses with fuse wire, or no RCD protection
- The board trips often, or you can smell burning or see scorch marks
- You are adding an EV charger, an extension, a new kitchen or an electric shower
- You have just bought an older house and do not know when the board was last done
- The board is plastic, cracked or has had bits added over the years
Every full rewire
A premium metal consumer unit, as standard
Every full rewire we do includes a premium metal consumer unit, with individual RCBO protection on every circuit and a built-in fire suppression system.
- 01
Premium metal consumer unit
A metal enclosure instead of plastic, so if a fault ever does happen inside the board it is contained.
- 02
An RCBO on every circuit
Each circuit has its own protection. A fault trips that one circuit only, so the rest of the house stays on.
- 03
Built-in fire suppression
A fire suppression system inside the board that acts automatically if a fire starts in the unit.

Our work
Neat, clearly labelled
Every board we fit is carefully finished and organised, with every circuit clearly labelled, so you always know what is what.
Questions
Fuse board questions
How long does a fuse board upgrade take?
Usually a single visit. The power is off while the new board goes in and each circuit is tested, and we tell you the day before roughly how long it will be off.
Do I need a full rewire as well?
Not always. We test the existing wiring when we change the board. If anything is not safe to connect to a new board, we tell you straight and price it, before you commit to anything.
What is an RCBO?
An RCBO protects one circuit against both overload and earth leakage. With one on every circuit, a fault only switches off the circuit it is on, not the whole house.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. Every circuit is tested when the board is in, and you get the electrical certificate for the work.
